Bridlington Town are desperate to hit back quickly after Saturday's disappointment.
Bridlington Town have a midweek away game upcoming, taking on Brighouse Town on Wednesday evening in their second league game of the season.
They will be hoping to improve on their start to the season so far which has seen them pick up two defeats.
After Birtley won 3-2 to knock the Seasiders out of the FA Cup, they then lost 1-0 at home against Carlton Town in the Northern Premier League opener, so will now be looking to get off the mark and pick up their first points of the season.
Loan signings Kyle Fanning and Sebastian Malkowski made their debuts against Carlton, whilst Adrian Costello said Nathan Doyle shouldn’t be far away from a return from injury, though isn’t likely to be back in time for Brighouse. Josh Barrett and Curtis Morrison are also still sidelined.
Similarly, Brighouse Town go into Wednesday’s game having been knocked out of the FA Cup before losing their opening league game.
They drew 0-0 away from home with North West Counties Premier Division side Barnoldswick Town, before the replay ended 2-2 after extra time. The penalty shootout saw Barnoldwick win 5-3 to progress to the Preliminary Round.
Whilst Bridlington Town were only defeated narrowly in their first Northern Premier League game, Brighouse picked up an emphatic 5-1 defeat away from home against Cleethorpes Town, with former Seasiders Will Annan netting the Owls’ fifth goal off the bench.
The result sees them sit bottom of the Northern Premier League East Division after matchday number one.
At the Heffernan Utilities Stadium, Bridlington and Brighouse drew 2-2 in February thanks to a brace off the bench from Ellis Barkworth.
The reverse fixture back at Bridlington ended in a 3-0 victory for the home side in a bizarre game where two Brighouse players were sent off for a scuffle with each other at half time.
