Jono Greening's men suffered a heavy defeat at Warrington Town on Saturday.
With last weekend's clash being postponed, it had been 11 days since the Seadogs' last outing.
Warrington raced into a 2-0 lead by half-time and doubled that advantage in the second period.
Ryan Whitley was even called upon to make a late penalty save to avoid conceding a fifth goal as the match finished 4-0 to the hosts.
Boro boss Greening spoke to SAFC TV at full-time:
The Seadogs are back in action on Tuesday for their huge one-off FA Cup First Round clash with Forest Green Rovers at The Flamingo Land Stadium.
