Boro chose to bat first at York side Woodhouse Grange, but suffered two significant batting collapses.
They slipped from 68/0 to 84/3 and from 146/3 to 166/7.
Jack Redshaw top-scored with 44 and Harry Walmsley made 42 as Scarborough were bowled out for 207 on the last ball of the 50th over.
Redshaw and Clarke Doughney then took a wicket each but Grange eased to their target, by eight wickets, in the 37th over.
In the same division, Driffield Town returned to winning ways at Sheriff Hutton Bridge.
They also chose to bat first as opener Alec Drury smashed 139 off 159 balls.
Sam Drury added 57 from 60 as the visitors made 254/7 from their 50 overs.
Skipper George Drury then impressed with the ball, he and Sri Lankan spinner Methushan Thilina, taking three wickets each.
The hosts were restricted to 207/9 falling 43 runs short of their adjusted target, due to rain.
Folkton & Flixton remain in pole position to be promoted into that league as they won a low-scoring encounter with Goole Town in YPN Championship East.
The league leaders were asked to field first and the away side must have been regretting that decision as Charlie Colley collected 4/29, Elliot Hatton 3/13 and Calum Hatton 3/40 as Goole were dismissed for just 109 in the 43rd over.

Filey's own promotion hopes suffered a blow as they were beaten by five wickets, at Clarence Drive, by Cottingham.
Opener Harry Burton top-scored with 47 as Filey were asked to bat first and made 198/6 from 50 overs.
But despite Muhammad Khalid taking 3/42, the visitors got home by five wickets with seven balls to spare as Filey slip to third.
Whitby remain in deep trouble at the bottom of North Yorkshire South Durham Division One.
They were put in at Sedgefield where they crumbled to 90 all out- Rhys Buck top-scoring with 18 as the visitors were bowled out inside 22 overs.
The County Durham side then raced to victory, by eight wickets, in the 19th over, with Ricky Hall and Steve Allen taking a scalp each.
