Blues Ridden Over in Redcar

A depleted Whitby Town side were heavily beaten by lower league opponents on Saturday.

Missing six players, the Seasiders lost 5-1 at Redcar Athletic.

The Northern League First Division side led with two goals in the last ten minutes of the first half.

They made it 3-0 early in the second half, but Nathan Thomas pulled one back for Town.

Athletic, led by former Blue Brad Fewster, who scored a hat-trick, notched two more late on.

Whitby Town manager Nathan Haslam spoke to Whitby Town TV after the game:

The Seasiders are back in action on Wednesday night when they host York City with a 7.00pm kick-off.

It's a testimonial match for long-serving goalkeeper Shane Bland, if you can't make it, we have commentary on This is The Coast Extra Whitby.
