The A171 is BLOCKED at Cloughton Bank following an accident this afternoon.
Earlier, Police closed the road due to the number of vehichles being abandoned in the wintry conditions. The A169 was also trecherous.

- A171 Whitby to Egton turn off extremely slow and very tricky driving conditions
- A169 Whitby to Pickering very slow and slippy along many stretches
- A174 Sandsend to Staithes trecherous in places
- A170 Wykeham to Thornton-le-Dale trecherous and extremely slow
- A64 slow with poor driving conditions
- A165 Scarborough to Bridlington slow with poor driving conditions
- A614 Bridlington to Driffield slow with poor driving conditions
- A165 Bridlington to Beeford slow with poor driving conditions
- B1249 Staxton Hill to Driffield slow with poor driving conditions
- B1416 Ruswarp to the A171 slow with poor driving conditions
Whitby and Scarborough are very slow to drive around as snow showers continue to slide down the Yorkshire Coast.
The Met Office have updated their Yellow Warning for severe weather:
Wintry showers will affect many areas of northern Scotland and parts of northeast England, though tending to become fewer in number from later on Thursday. A few centimetres of snow are likely to accumulate at low levels with the potential for as much as 15-20 cm over higher ground. In addition, ice is likely to form on untreated surfaces, mainly where some of the showers fall as sleet close to coasts.
