3 Wins Out Of 4 For Yorkshire Coast Cricketers

Scarborough, Whitby, Bridlington and Folkton & Flixton were all in cricket action on Saturday.

Scarborough Cricket Club have now won two of their last three games, in Yorkshire Premier North, after a tense finish on Saturday.

Boro had just two wickets in hand when they reached their target at Stamford Bridge.

Jack Redshaw was the hero for Scarborough with 6 for 13 as Bridge were reduced to 168 all out in the 41st over.

Tristin Van Schalkwyk took 2 for 33.

In reply, Redshaw secured his man of the match status with 61 opening the batting. Prince Bedi added 34, but Boro slipped from 101/1 to 130/6 and just made it over the line, by two wickets, late on.

Bridlington were also victorious, in YPN Championship East.

Brid batted first and were indebted to Steve Janney's 72 and Casey Rudd's 46 as they posted 200/7 from their 50 overs.

Janney then finished with 3 for 19 as he helped mop the tail alongside Ricky Robinson, with 3/27 and Elliot Traves took 2/36.

Rudd and Adam Newington took a wicket each as they squeezed runs early on.

Brid skittled for visitors Sutton-on-Hull for 133 in the 44th over, long since ending their match as a contest and winning by 67 runs.

Elsewhere in the same division, Folkton & Flixton batted superbly to knock off a challenging total.

Hosts Patrington chose to bat first, posting an imposing 277 all out from exactly 50 overs. This was despite Rehaan Shyamsundar's 4/45 and Charlie Colley taking 3/49, the visitors' opener posting the only score over 38- 136!

After an early wobble, the villagers were indebted to Elliot Hatton with 107 not out and Cameron Anderson (51) as they put on a century partnership.

Hatton steered the visitors to victory, with four wickets and 4.1 overs in hand.

Unfortunately, Whitby were unable to complete a Yorkshire Coast clean sweep, in North Yorkshire South Durham Division One.

They were bowled out for just 85, at the Turnbull Ground, never recovering from 8/3- skipper Paul Buck top scoring with 29.

Kobie Boocock took the only wicket as opponents Norton strolled to their target in the 21st over.
