East Yorkshire's tourism awards are back for 2024.
Now in its 14th year, the Remarkable East Yorkshire Tourism Awards, widely referred to at the REYTAs, is now accepting entries from tourism businesses across Hull and East Yorkshire.
Regarded as the ‘Oscars’ of the tourism sector, the REYTAs celebrate the region’s most successful and innovative tourism businesses, and there are categories for businesses of all sizes to enter. For eligible winners, the awards scheme is also a pathway to achieving national recognition as they will automatically go through to the appropriate category in the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2024/25.
The newly-appointed Chair of Visit Hull and East Yorkshire’s Advisory Board, Chris Blacksell, said:
“The REYTAs are a key highlight in our calendar, celebrating the incredible contributions of our local tourism businesses.
Their dedication and innovation play a crucial role in making Hull and East Yorkshire a top visitor destination.
We are thrilled to once again honour those who exemplify excellence and passion in our industry.
I look forward to seeing the outstanding entries this year and celebrating the remarkable achievements of our tourism sector.”
This year there are 15 different categories for businesses to enter, as well as one further accolade that Visit Hull & East Yorkshire will award to honour an individual who has made a significant contribution to tourism in the region. With categories for visitors attractions and events, hotels and accommodation providers, restaurants, cafes and pubs, and more, the awards recognise and celebrate the very best that the regional tourism sector has to offer, and are open to tourism businesses across Hull and East Yorkshire.
Entry is free and the form is easy to complete, with guidance notes provided. Visit www.reytas.co.uk to view the categories and submit your entry.
Entries must be submitted by midnight on Wednesday July 19. After that date, a shortlist of finalists will be drawn up and the judging will get under way. This will be carried out by independent panels and through a mystery shopping exercise. Further information about the awards evening on 14 November will be announced during the coming weeks.
Chris Blacksell added:
“Hull and East Yorkshire continues to establish itself as one of the top choices for visitors from outside our region as well as offering fantastic choices for local people to enjoy all year round.
The REYTAs are a remarkable event to celebrate a remarkable industry that contributes more than £963 million annually to Hull and East Yorkshire’s economy and provides employment to more than 21,000 people.”
